How BrightStep works.
From signup to your child's first live class with a verified teacher, it takes just five steps. All classes are live, recorded, and taught in groups of four students maximum, or 1-on-1 if you would rather your child have the instructor to themselves.

Create account
Parents set up a family account with email and password. You choose your location and currency.

Add your child
Create a student profile. Under-13s require COPPA parental consent via card verification.

Choose a plan
Pay per class, or save by paying for all the classes in a course at once. 1-on-1 classes cost more than group. No subscriptions.

Book & attend
Find a class matching your timezone and schedule. Join live over Zoom on a computer or laptop — not a phone or tablet. Parents may observe.

Access forever
All sessions are recorded, so a missed class is never wasted.

Can I reschedule or cancel a class?
Yes, free cancellations up to 24 hours before the class start time. After that, the class is still billable.
Are the classes really live?
Always. We do not offer pre-recorded lessons. Real-time interaction is where the learning happens.
What if my child wants to switch teachers or subjects?
No problem. There's no lock-in — you can switch at any time.
Can I watch the live class with my child?
Yes. Parents can silently observe any live session their child attends, or review the recording afterward.
What languages do you teach in?
English is the medium of instruction. Teachers are native or fluent English speakers.

Our instructors teach from India. You should never have to do the maths. Every time on BrightStep is stored in UTC and rendered in your own timezone — including the half-hour offset, and including daylight saving on both sides.
